The Group

Land Use Engineering Group

Welcome to the group of Land Use Engineering!

Our research focuses on spatially explicit optimisation of land use activities, emerging concepts of land-use management (adaptive ecosystem management, precision land-use management), modelling environmental performance of different land-use systems, and risk management of natural hazards. We attempt to provide a teaching environment that attracts highly motivated and skilled students to contribute to our research and outreach activities. Our group transfers its research knowledge to practitioners. We are offering consulting services to agencies and enterprises in the field of forest engineering, spatial optimization, GIS and statistics.

Connection to FRS at Singapore ETH Center

“Future Resilient Systems” (FRS) is a research project under the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC) that addresses the challenges that arise with critical infrastructure systems which provide essential services to modern societies. This is of particular importance to innovation-driven economies like Singapore and Switzerland.
